Student Scholarship Program

  • Are you a student using SAS in your research or coursework?
  • Are you interested in networking with other SAS users?
  • Would you like to enhance your SAS skills?

Applications Now Closed

The NorthEast SAS Users Group (NESUG) Conference is an educational event that encourages knowledge sharing among SAS users in the northeastern United States. This year, NESUG and SAS plan to award conference registration scholarships to selected students who are using SAS in their coursework or research.

NESUG recognizes and values the unique insight and perspective that can only be offered by institutions of higher learning.  We hope that you will consider supplementing your scholarship application with a written paper that describes your experience with SAS, whether it be a technical tip that helped you organize or analyze your data, how you used SAS to run your analyses and answer a research problem, or any other use of SAS.

If you’re interested in this opportunity to improve your public speaking and professional writing as well as adding a publication to your resume, then submit an abstract of 50 – 250 words and submit it using the Call for Papers application. The deadline for submitting an abstract is April 30, 2010.

The scholarship application deadline is May 15, 2010.  Decisions for both scholarship acceptance and abstract acceptance will be communicated by May 30, 2010.

Scholarship winners will enjoy:

  • Complimentary registration to attend NESUG in Baltimore, Maryland, November 14-17, 2010.
  • Recognition as a scholarship recipient in conference materials and at the conference.

Selection Criteria for Scholarship Awards includes:

  1. Submission of a complete application by May 15 , 2010.
  2. Status as a student in a degree-granting program, at time of application and at time of conference (November 14-17, 2010).
  3. Use of SAS software for research or studies.
  4. Participation in NESUG 2010 as a presenter or volunteer.*

* Scholarship recipients are not required to present a paper, but preference is given to those willing to help at the conference - registration desk, session coordinator, etc.

NOTE: Student scholarships include registration, admission to receptions and breaks at NESUG 2010. Travel and hotel expenses are your responsibility.
